St Pancras – Moutiers
EUROSTAR
Direct with one stop at Ashford en route.
There are two ways to travel, leaving Friday evening and arriving very early on Saturday morning, or travelling all day Saturday and arriving in the evening.
Moutiers - Mottaret
BUS & TAXIS
There are buses as well as taxis at Moutier Station which will take you direct to Mottaret.
The return journey leaves either early Saturday morning or very late on
Saturday evening.
The disadvantage of arriving in the early morning, is not being able to get in to the apartment until later in the day unless the previous week has been vacant.
AIR
Geneva Airport = 2 hours.
Lyon St Expury = 2 hours
Chambery = 1.5. hours
Grenoble = 1.5. hours.
We have found for ‘flydrive’ from the UK to Lyon, much less hassle than going to Geneva. No messing about with borders and the airport is the right side of Lyon for the Trois Vallees. The Autoroute Toll is Euros 16.00.
Flybe goes from Southampton to Chambery, but will close in bad weather.
BUSES
Contact www.altibus.com for timetables from Geneva and Lyon.
TRAINS
Contact French Railways. A change at Chambery is likely.
CAR
Hiring a car is the least stressful way to get to us!
TRANSFER BY TAXI TO MERIBEL MOTTARET AND BACK!!
MOUNTAIN EXPRESS.
This company started recently and is run by Simon & Heather Byrne. They seem pretty competitive.
Suggest you check them out on the web site. www.mountainexpress.co.uk or email them at office@mountainexpress.co.uk
Simon suggests that you book on-line Using the Promo Code “SNOWBALL” he did add that not every journey is automatically discounted , depending on” live” availability and if no discount is displayed , then there won’t be one for that particular transfer.
I have also been given by another owner three more taxis which she recommends, they are :
Monsieur Gacon: 0033(0)630497619
Meritaxis: 0033(0)479085822,
Carl van Hien: 0033(0)611376385, email carl@meribeltransfer
These maybe more expensive .
